Crosshands Training gets the go ahead for major new development

Carmarthenshire Council has voted overwhelmingly to approve plans for a major development at Crosshands Training’s headquarters in Cwmgwli, Carmarthenshire.

The approval gives the go ahead for new classrooms, and a range of other training facilities which will enable the company to implement its strategy for the new Digital Tachograph and ADR requirements. It will also provide the base for training under the EU Compulsory Driver Training Directive, due to take effect over the next few years.

Managing Director Simon Payne commented. “This development will allow us to offer more courses, more often. We will be able to provide services on par with training establishments in the Midlands and South East allowing Welsh companies to benefit from professional training without prohibitive travelling and accommodation costs”.

New Working Time Regulations give thriving firm a boost

New regulations have had a positive impact on a Carmarthenshire firm. Crosshands Training Ltd has expanded its purpose built 10 acre site to accomodate more staff in order to cope with a UK wide increase in the demand for tachograph analyis.

The increase has been a direct result of tough new rules governing the amount of time that truck and bus drivers can work. The analysis carried out by the company results in the generation of accurate records of time worked under both EU driver hours and driver working time regulations and saves transport operators the trouble and expense of logging and calculating figures required by VOSA inspectors during checks.
