Break the tachograph rules and lose    your Licence, your Vehicle or your Freedom!

To enable enforcement authorities to better deal with the new Digital Tachograph, changes to the Transport Act were made on August 5th 2005*.

Fines for 'obstruction' have been raised to level 5 (£5,000).

Prosecution for destroying, falsifying or failing to make records has been extended to take in those 'causing or permitting' them.  Operators as well as drivers may now face fines of £5,000 or up to 2 years prison per offence!

The new rules apply to both Digital and Analogue tachograph usage.
